Mineral Ridge keeps it close, but Springfield holds on in 5

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Brittany Schrieber scored 23 points, with four aces, six kills and 17 passes for the Springfield High volleyball team, which needed five sets to defeat Mineral Ridge (25-18, 25-14, 18-25, 22-25, 16-14) in an Inter Tri-County League game on Tuesday.

Kallie Rogers had 28 assists for the Tigers (11-6, 8-3), while Whitney Yaeter had seven blocks and six kills.

Sarah Garland led the Rams (4-14, 1-10) with six points, four aces, two kills and one assist. Alex Ladd had five points, two kills and 28 assists. Heather Reinhart had six points, 11 kills and three blocks.

Tasha Cunningham led the Indians (0-15, 0-9) with three points, three aces, six kills and a block. Alyssa Lockhart had 13 points.

LISBON — Senior middle blocker Rachel Wycoff had 10 points, nine kills and six blocks; junior setter Emily Smith had 32 assists, six kills, 13 points; senior outside hitter Abby Kibbler had 10 kills, four points, six digs and senior defensive specialist Annette Crowell had 10 points and 13 digs for Lisbon (8-11, 4-7 ITCL).

Megan Sosnowski had 27 assists, Annie Semko had 17 kills, five aces and five blocks and Jen Felt had 10 kills and five aces for South Range (10-8, 5-6 ITCL).

South Range won an earlier match between the teams.
