Mooney, Poland boys post shutout victories
Poland's girls team blanked Fitch.
CANFIELD Dom DiPasquale, Tommie McBride and Aleko Frangopoulos each scored a goal for the Cardinal Mooney High boys soccer team, which defeated Canfield 3-0 in a match between two state-ranked teams on Tuesday.
Mooney (11-2-1) is ranked second in Div. III and Canfield is eighth in Div. II.
Scott Blasko had an assist. Mooney goalkeeper Jonathon Critel turned away five shots as his team registered its ninth shutout. Canfield goalkeepers John Congelio and Eric Clayton combined for five assists.
Poland 5, Campbell 0
POLAND Blake Rhein, Clay Bolton, Taylor Malaniak, Ryan Rovnak and Sam Romeo each scored for the Bulldogs (7-4-4). Bolton and Zubin Teckchandani each had an assist. Goalkeeper Andrew McElroy made one save.
Campbell's (1-11) goalkeeper made 16 saves.
JVs: Poland 2-0.

NORTH LIMA Mark Johnson and Steve Humphrey each scored two goals for the Raiders (3-10). Jared Lay, Alex Baker and Andrew Edwards had an assist apiece.
Erak Christofis and Rod Arguilla each scored a goal for Warren Christian. Frank Powell had an assist.
Girls
Poland 2, Fitch 0
AUSTINTOWN Maureen Malone scored her 22nd goal of the season for Poland. Sam Robertson also scored for the Bulldogs (12-1-2). Pam Shure made four saves.
Cara Calai made eight saves for Fitch (6-8-0).
JVs: Poland 8-3.
Howland 0, Chagrin Falls 0
HOWLAND Howland (11-0-3) goalkeeper Meagan McLaughlin made two saves.
For Chagrin Falls (12-2-2), Kat Powers made four saves.
