Cavs fall to Orlando



ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Grant Hill scored 21 points and Dwight Howard added 14 points and 16 rebounds, and the Orlando Magic ended a three-game losing streak with an 81-74 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night.

Darko Milicic had 12 points and nine rebounds, while reserve Travis Diener had 11 points and four assists for the Magic.

Lebron James led Cleveland with 29 points, but the Cavaliers suffered a dismal shooting night, hitting only 36 percent of their shots. Drew Gooden and Larry Hughes each had 14 points and were the only other Cavaliers in double figures.

Cleveland trailed by seven to start the fourth quarter, but scored the first five points to cut the deficit to 58-56. The Magic responded with an 8-2 run to regain control of the game. Howard's two free throws gave Orlando a 64-56 lead with 7:28 left in the game.

Cleveland never got closer than five points the rest of the game.

Magic missed at start

The Magic missed 11 of their first 12 shots, allowing Cleveland to take a 13-2 lead. James hit four of five shots in the period and scored 11 points as the Cavaliers led by as many as 13 before settling for a 23-12 lead.

In the second quarter, Cleveland hit only three of 16 shots from the field and scored a season-low eight points in the quarter.

The Magic, meanwhile, rallied behind eight points and seven rebounds from Howard in the quarter. Orlando tied the game at 28-all on a four-point play by rookie J.J. Redick. Diener followed with a 3-pointer and the Magic slipped away to a 38-31 halftime lead.

Notes

The Magic bench outscored Cavaliers reserves 40-8. ... Orlando's Hedo Turkoglu missed his fifth straight game with an ankle sprain and Jameer Nelson missed his third straight with a groin pull. Both are expected back by Wednesday's game against the Hornets. ... Dwight Howard has now led the Magic in rebounding in 25 of 26 games.
