Mooney keeps streak going with sixth win



Rayen improved to 6-1 while Poland topped Niles.

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mooney High volleyball team kept its unbeaten streak going as it posted a 25-8, 25-17, 25-19 victory over Wilson Tuesday in the Redmen's gymnasium.

Kristin Donoghue scored 20 points, with three aces and six kills for the Cardinals (6-0). Sarah Pelini had 12 points, five digs and five kills. Dayna Daltorio had 13 points.

Beth Kotapish led the Redmen (0-5) with 11 points, three kills and 15 assists. Kristi Mraz had eight points, 12 digs and three kills. Aida Rivera had eight points, four digs and two kills. JVs: Mooney 25-8, 25-14.

Rayen 26-26-29, Chaney 24-24-27

YOUNGSTOWN — Kara Bentley had eight kills and six blocks; Bianca Diaz had 10 points; Nicole Himes had 16 assists and Bethany Himes had four aces for Rayen (6-1).
