Locals help Westminster women to 69-61 win
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. Three players scored career highs in points for the Westminster College women's basketball team in its 69-61 non-conference win over visiting Point Park Monday night.
Junior guard Gina Brunetti (Cardinal Mooney) tied a career high with 16 points, while sophomore guard/forward Amy Dolsak (McDonald) bucketed a career-high 13 points and freshman guard Kaitlin McCarthy (Lowellville) netted a personal-best 12 points. Dolsak also grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds.
Westminster senior forward Terese Marszalek led all scorers with 17 points, including nine from the free-throw line.
The Titans were playing without injured senior guard/forward Emilee Ackerman, the Presidents' Athletic Conference's leading scorer with 21.0 point per game.
The Titans (8-3) held a commanding 41-28 lead at halftime before Point Park (2-10) cut the deficit to one point (49-48) late.
