Liste's two goals lead Niles past Canfield, 2-1; Chick keys Hubbard
NILES Nick Liste scored two goals as Niles High edged Canfield 2-1 in a boys soccer game Tuesday at Bo Rein Stadium.
Tim Hutchinson had the only goal for the Cardinals. Jared Turocy had seven saves. The Niles goalie had seven saves.
Hubbard 6, Liberty 0
LIBERTY Alex Chick scored three goals for the Eagles (6-2-1, 5-0-1 TAC). Phillip Pesch, Jeremy Frazzini and R.J. Lee each had one.
Don Madeline had two assists, Frazzini, Lee and Branch Pagnatta had one apiece.
Hubbard had 18 shots on goal and Liberty (4-5-1, 2-3-1) had 12.
Galen Hayek, goalie, had nine saves for the Eagles. Josh Hideg had seven saves for the Leopards.
West Branch 1, Louisville 1
BELOIT Aaron Lamancusa scored the goal for the Warriors on an assist from Caleb Capron. Chance Young, goalie, had four saves.
Zach McKelvey scored the goal for Louisville. Jeff Kibler had eight saves.
JVs: West Branch 2-1.
Girls
STRUTHERS Ashley Cuba and Katie Griswald each scored two goals as Cardinal Mooney (3-1-3) defeated Western Reserve Academy 6-0.
Maggie Vinopal and Alexa Tkacik also netted goals.
Griswald, Vinopal, Dina Pelly, Alex Sierra and Emily Groubert earned assists while goalkeeper Meagan McGlaughlin made two saves.
For Western Reserve Academy (4-5-0), goalkeeper Kelly Muffley made five saves.
