Hubbard stays unbeaten in TAC
Poland earned its first win of the season against Niles.
LEAVITTSBURG Alex Chick scored three goals and added an assist for the Hubbard High boys soccer team, which defeated LaBrae 6-1 in a Trumbull Athletic Conference on Tuesday.
Gustavo Nenecces and Carl Schulte each had a goal and an assist for Hubbard (4-1, 3-0). Paul Greef scored the other goal.
R.J. Lee, Joe Celender and Jeremy Frazzini added assists. Galen Hayek made two saves.
For LaBrae (1-4, 0-3), Eric Marsh scored and Andrew Ozanich made 27 saves.
Poland 6, Niles 0
NILES Brian Witt scored two goals, while Ryan Rovnak, Clay Bolton, Blake Rhein and Andrew McElroy added one apiece for the Bulldogs (1-3-1, 1-2-1) in the Metro Athletic Conference game.
Ryan Storkel and Rhein each had an assist for the Bulldogs, who outshot the Red Dragons 17-3.
Ryan Gregory had 11 saves for Niles. Thomas Lange had three saves for Poland.
JVs: Poland 7-0.
Lordstown 3, Maplewood 3
LORDSTOWN Ryan Pal, Keith Simpson and Julian Acrisewski each scored a goal for the Red Devils. Goalkeeper Hobie Platt made six saves.
Ryan Bell scored two goals and Beau Ramsey one for the Rockets (3-1-3).
Eric Hartman and Keith St. Julian had an assist apiece.
Tyler Perkins made 21 saves.
Jeremy Ratell of Lordstown injured his knee with 25 seconds remaining in the contest and was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

NEW MIDDLETOWN Alyson Berry and Carrie Ritzler each scored five goals for the Tigers (4-3).
Katie Bretz, Chelsea Paulin and Katie Walker each had an assist. Heather Cozak had nine saves.
Kara Cooper led the Eagles (2-5) with three goals. Arielle Flores had the other one.
Kathy Wengerd had eight saves.
