Rev. Johnnie Thompson, 68

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP – The Rev. Johnnie Thompson, 68, died Wednesday, Nov. 28.
He retired in October of 2005 from General Motors after 23 years as a tool and die maker and was assistant Pastor at the New Beginnings Church in Youngstown.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Rena Gibbons Thompson of Liberty Twp.; a son, Kenneth Maurice Thompson of Snellville, Ga.; four brothers; and a sister.
There will be funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Sander Creek Baptist Church in Camden, S.C.
Local arrangements are being handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home in Youngstown.
