William “Bill” Thomas Carraway, 62

RANDOLPH – William “Bill” Thomas Carraway, 62, passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Cleveland VA Medical Center, Wade Park Campus.
He was born Oct. 18, 1945 in Farmville, N.C., a son of William and Thelma (Eastwood) Helmick.
Bill was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Carraway of Youngstown; life partner, Helen Houck of Randolph; mother, Thelma Helmick of South Hill, Va.; brothers, John (Rita) Carraway of Vinegrove, Ky., Carl Helmick of Norlina, N.C., and Sherman Helmick of Youngstown; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Carraway.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St. in Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Pastor David Ballert at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Interment will follow with military honors at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph.
