Viola Pizzoferrato

POLAND – Viola Pizzoferrato went home to be with our Lord and her beloved daughter, Gerri, on Saturday, Dec. 30.
She was born in Youngstown to the late Nicholas and Neva Dionisio.
In her lifetime, she was a member of St. Luke Church and the Women’s Christian Group and was a top sales person in the fine jewelry department at Kaufmann’s.
Her pies were top notch, her cooking was the best and her recipes will live on. When thinking of what a grandmother is, she is the perfect example.
We are so grateful to have known her and are thankful for the fond memories that will always bring a smile to our faces.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 66 years, Michael; her daughter, Jean Pizzoferrato; her son, Guy Pizzoferrato; her two grandchildren, Lisa Boggs and Michael Buttrey; her great-grandson, Brady Boggs; and her sister, Florence DelGenio; and wonderful nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Gerri Buttrey; brothers, Albert and James Dionisio; and her sisters, Pauline DiBacco, Rose DiTommaso, Mary Leone, Alice Pizzoferrato and Julia Rudy.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Fabrizio Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at the funeral home benefiting Hospice of the Valley.
