M. Jane Malarick, 80
STRUTHERS M. Jane Malarick, 80, of Spring Street, died Wednesday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center after a two-month battle with cancer.
Jane was born April 18, 1926 in Struthers, a daughter of Benjamin and Mary Agnes Rouan Simkins and was a lifelong Struthers resident.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, where she was assistant secretary for a number of years. She was also a member of its Altar and Rosary Society, Infant Jesus of Prague and volunteered for Monday morning cleaning of the church and in the kitchen for bingo.
An avid card player, Jane was a member of the Saturday Card Club for many years, and recently the Thursday Card Club.
Her husband Robert Francis Moon Malarick, whom she married June 18, 1953, died Jan. 4, 1991.
She leaves two sons, James R. (Shirley) Malarick of Youngstown and Timothy E. Malarick of Westerville; two sisters, Agnes Crossen and Sally Grapevine, both of Struthers; a brother, Raymond Simkins of Canfield; and four grandchildren, Robert Malarick of Dublin, Patrick Malarick of Westerville, Stephanie Krohn of Salem and Kevin Malarick of Struthers.
Besides her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by a son, William J. Malarick; two sisters, Mary Caddick and Loretta Niggel; and three brothers, Benjamin, John and Robert Simkins.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church where the Altar and Rosary Society will conduct a candle light vigil.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
