Yolanda Elaine Burkes, 54

YOUNGSTOWN – There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday at the F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home for Yolanda Elaine Burkes, 54, who went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 5.
Ms. Burkes, affectionately known as "Ms. Yo," was born Oct. 29, 1952 in Youngsotwn, a daughter of Calvin and Betty J, Clinkscale Burkes.
She was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking and helping any way she could and enjoyed all of her 15 grandchildren.
She leaves her loving lifetime companion, Jerome Hicks; three daughters, Keysha L. Burkes, Michelle L. Burkes and LaToya J. Burkes; her daughters' father, John F. Gibson; her stepfather, Robert Leftwich; two sisters, Pearl Gibson and Pinkie (James) Randall; two nieces, Nicole and Kikki; a nephew, Mark; three stepchildren, Cassandra Beachem and Robert and Johnathan Gibson, all of Youngstown; her best friend, Reemer Echols; and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Tamika Hicks.
Viewing will be from noon to 4 p.m. Friday and friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
