Anna M. Strabala, 89

POLAND - Services will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church for Anna M. Strabala, 89, who passed away Friday evening at her home.
Anna was born March 17, 1917, in Pittsburgh; the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Mulholland Wilson.
She had been a parochial school teacher for almost 30 years, teaching at St. Charles, St. Patrick, and Holy Family. She had received her bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University, was named in Who's Who in American Teachers, and in 1974 and in 1981 was named teacher of the year by the Catholic Woman's Association.
She enjoyed bowling and had served as the treasurer of her bowling league for over 30 years. She had been a charter member of Holy Family Church, attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and was a former member of the Poland Knights of Columbus KC ettes.
Her husband, Clinton P. Strabala, whom she married July 14, 1941, died October 20, 1993.
She is survived by two sons, Harry Strabala, with whom she made her home, and Lawrence W. Strabala of Sharon, Pa.; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, William Henerfo, who raised from childhood; and a sister, Madeline Borts.
Friends may call Monday for one half hour prior to services at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
