Samuel Ierace, 78
LIBERTY Samuel Ierace, 78, died Tuesday at his residence.
He was born July 21, 1928 in Youngstown, the son of the late Dominic and Mary (Raymond) Ierace.
He was a member of St. Rose Parish in Girard. He worked at Brainard Rivet Company in Girard as a maintenance machinist for 37 years, retiring in 1990, and owned Sams Imported Foods for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Marie (Marconi) Ierace, whom he married June 11, 1949; a daughter, Paulette Ierace Chearno of Liberty; three brothers, Fred Yerrace of Poland, Mike Ierace of Youngstown and Frank (Peggy) Yerrace of Struthers; two grandsons, Justin Chearno and his fiance Stacy Fisher of New York City, and Brian Chearno of Liberty; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Pauline Franklin of Girard, and sister-in-law, Margaret Brown of Austintown.
He was also survived by his nieces, Paula Franklin, Margie Stephenson, Charlotte Miller, Donna Casey, Tina Timko, Georgann Donadee, Lori Yerrace, and Lisa Yerrace; nephews, Richard Franklin, James Pedro, David Pedro and Frank Yerrace; several great-nephews and great-nieces; and a special friend of the family, John Seeco.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Nick (Wolf) Yerrace; a sister, Maria Gourlas; a niece, Betsy Rogers; and a great-nephew, Matthew Franklin.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the McClurkin Funeral Home in Girard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rose Church at 11 a.m. Saturday with prayers at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Girard City Cemetery in Girard.
