Lillie Elsie Goering Cullar, 91
NORTH LIMA Lillie Elsie Goering Cullar, 91, of 2120 Lynn Road, passed away at 7:33 p.m. Wednesday at the Hospice House in North Lima from cancer.
Lillie was born Nov. 26, 1915 in McPherson County, Kan., the daughter of John C. and Adina Wedel Goering.
She and her husband, John, owned and operated the Paradise Greenhouse and Vegetable Farm, retiring in 1993.
She was a member of the Midway Mennonite Church where she shared deacon responsibilities with her husband and served as past Sunday School teacher. She attended McPherson College. After teaching several years in one room school houses, she served in the Mennonite Voluntary Service. She enjoyed baking and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, John Allen Cullar, whom she married Nov. 23, 1951; a sister, Lorene Stucky of Moundridge, Kan.; a brother, Martin H. Goering of Moundridge; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, John Craig Cullar in 1956; two sisters, Bertha A. Kaufman and Ellen Schrag; and five brothers, Phil J. Goering, Edwin J. Goering, Ben J. Goering, John W. Goering and Arthur J. Goering.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Midway Mennonite Church in Columbiana with the Rev. Larry Rohrer officiating.
Burial will be at Midway Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
