Mary Mackos, 80

YOUNGSTOWN – There will be services Monday at 10 a.m. at the Kubina Yuhasz Funeral Home, Boardman Chapel and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthias Church for Mary Mackos, 80, who passed away Thursday evening at her home.
Her family will remember her as a dedicated and caring wife, mother and grandmother.
Mary was born June 3, 1926 in Struthers, the daughter of Peter and Helen Zornjak.
She was a homemaker and an avid mall walker, a member of St. Matthias Church and a former member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church, where she belonged to the Holy Rosary Society. She also was a 50-year member of SNPJ Lodge 153 of Youngstown.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph L. Mackos, whom she married May 17, 1947; two sons, Joe (Dee) Mackos of Youngstown and Don (Sherene) Mackos of Cincinnati; a daughter, Judy (Sam) Pizzoferrato of Las Vegas; five grandchildren, Ryan, Lara, Marisa, Pam and Tina; and a brother, Steve Zornjak of Youngstown.
Four brothers, George, John and Lou Bezjak and Frank Zornjak; and three sisters, Anna Osikiewicz, Sara Zubrinich and Barbara Drosdzal, preceded her in death.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the Infant Jesus of Prague Guild will conduct a prayer service at 3:45 p.m.
The family requests that memorial contributions may be sent to the Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
