Andrew E. Tekac, 85

PULASKI, PA. – Services will be Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in New Bedford for Andrew E. Tekac, 85, who passed away Saturday morning in Shepherd of the Valley.
Mr. Tekac was born Dec. 22, 1921 in Struthers, a son of Joseph and Mary Tekac, and was a lifelong area resident.
He retired as a steelworker from the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. after 37 years of service.
He was a member of the church and the Jednota
His wife, the former Mary Louise Mayberry, whom he married in 1944, passed away May 14, 1993.
He is survived by a son, Richard (Rosellen) “Cookie” Tekac of Pulaski; two daughters, Donna (Larry) Weis of Pulaski and Sherry (Bill) Depp of Austintown; six grandchildren, Vicki, Larry, Lori, Brian, Kimberly and Tracy; three great-grandchildren, Lexie, Brandon and Kamille; and a brother, George (Marie) Tekac of Lowellville.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Steve, John and Joe Tekac; and a sister, Ann Lechwar.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
