Stephen A. “Doc” Glozer, 85

YOUNGSTOWN – Services will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Matthias Church for Stephen A. “Doc” Glozer, 85, who passed away Sunday morning at Omni Manor.
He was born June 9, 1921 in Perryopolis, Pa., a son of Michael and Sophia Kolba Glozer.
Mr. Glozer was a shipper with Republic Steel, retiring after 43 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during WWII.
As an avid bowler and golfer, he was a member of Jednota Golf League and Tin Lizzies Bowling League. He also was a starter and ranger at Reserve Run Golf Course. He coached Little League, Pony League and Class B Baseball and was a member of Youngstown Baseball Old Timers.
Surviving him are his wife, the former Antoinette Cerimele, whom he married Aug. 10, 1946; two sons, Daniel (Kathy) Glozer of Boardman and Donald Glozer of St. Louis; a daughter-in-law, Karen Glozer of Youngstown; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Jeff) Mihok and Lisa (Brad) Straight; and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Mihok.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Stephen Glozer; brothers, Michael, John, Andrew, George and Martin Glozer; and sisters, Mary, Sue and Anne. Also Mary Kolba, Paul, Joe and Frank Kolba.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Birdie, Betty and Chaunda for their love and excellent care of Steve and his wife Antoinette.
“Thank you” also to the staff of Omni Manor for their kindness and help in making Steve’s last days as comfortable as possible.
