Ida Edith Boyle, 81
YOUNGSTOWN Ida Edith Boyle, 81, passed away Jan. 23.
She was born July 26, 1925 in Akron.
She graduated from the Sacred Heart Academy in Akron and, shortly thereafter, she met a handsome soldier on a bus. She married that soldier, Frank Boyle, and moved to Youngstown when she was 18 years old.
For many years she was a homemaker dedicating her life to her five children. During that time, she was a member of the Mother of Twins Club. She then began to work in retail services for many years and, after a career in that field, she became a caregiver for the elderly.
In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Anthony Hill. She was a member of St. Christines Senior Citizens Card Club and numerous parish card clubs throughout the Valley. She loved playing Five Hundred with her friends, sometimes five times a week.
She will always be remembered by her family as a loving wife, a dedicated mother, a loyal sister and a fun loving grandmother who were blessed to have been loved by her. She was the light of our life.
During her illness, she was lovingly cared for by the staff of Humility House on Ohltown Road in Austintown. She received many hugs, kisses and words of encouragement from the staff who loved her. Her children will forever be indebted to the cheerful, pleasant caring employees who contributed to making her last days happy ones.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Pamela (Boyle) and John Furrie of Tucson, Ariz., Sheila (Boyle) and Rick Hill, Richard and Jackie Boyle, Michael and Colleen Boyle and William and Kim Boyle of Concordia Mo.; her grandchildren, Rochelle (Boyle) Boey and Rick Boyle of Phoenix, Michael Boyle II, Shannon Boyle and Kristin (Furrie) Owens of Sacramento, Calif., Vincent Furrie of Los Angeles, Mike and Billy Klasic, Anthony Hill, Micah, Jordan, Gabriel and Noelle Boyle of Concordia; several great-grandchildren; her sister, Lillian and Bill Willgohs; and two brothers, Rudy Fruscella and William (Sandy) Fruscella.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Fruscella, and her husband, Frank.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Ida Boyle be sent to the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, 4303 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, OH 44515 where the donations will be distributed to the Humility House Employee Appreciation Fund, Hospice of the Valley and the American Diabetes Association.
