Carol Marie Giovannone, 82
WARREN Carol Marie Giovannone, 82, of 1206 Ina Drive S.W., died at 6:39 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22.
She was born Aug. 8, 1924 in Butler, Pa., the daughter of Chile and Sarah Black Altman.
Carol was a 1942 graduate of Concord High School in Butler, a graduate of the Great Lakes College of Massage in Cleveland and was a self-employed massotherapist for 18 years and a certified nurses aide in Bluefield, W.Va., for seven years.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Liberty, enjoyed traveling and camping and was a truth seeker.
Her first husband, Dale C. Thompson, whom she married July 4, 1946, died Dec. 22, 1968.
Her second husband, Donald Crewse Sr., whom she married June 3, 1973, died in 1977.
Her third husband, Rex L. Baird, whom she married Aug. 8, 1982, died April 28, 2000.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Frank D. Giovannone, whom she married April 23, 2005; two sons, Ronald T. Thompson and Gary L. Thompson, both of Kinsman; a daughter, Nancy Derby of Sanford, N.C.; and four grandchildren, Jeremy J. Derby of Somersville, Mass., Erik D. Derby of Providence, R.I., Steven D. Derby of New Port, R.I., and Julianna S. Derby of Old Saybrook, Conn.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Altman, and a sister, Lotus Altman.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Joseph Rossi Funeral Home in Niles.
There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ, 185 N. Canfield-Niles Road, Route 46 in Austintown, with the Rev. Wayne Martorana officiating.
Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ in Liberty in care of the funeral home.
