Deacon Clarence H. Pint Jennings
YOUNGSTOWN The Rev. Ernest Ellis will officiate a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Antioch Baptist Church celebrating the life of Deacon Clarence H. Pint Jennings, who departed this life Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center.
Mr. Jennings was born May 30, 1934 in Winding Gulf, W.Va., a son of Joseph and Ida Ray Jennings, and came to the valley many years ago
He was formerly employed with Conrail as a truck driver, retiring in 1992 after 40 yeas of service.
Mr. Jennings was a member of the church, serving as a deacon, chairman of the Deacon Board, member of the No. 2 choir, male chorus, and Steel Valley Male Chorus Union.
He joined Humanity Lodge No. 73 AF&AM, where he served as secretary and worshipful master. In 1999, he joined Emmanuel Lodge No. 64 AF&AM, where he served as secretary.
He was an active member of the Cyrus Chapter No. 6 RA Masons, Salaam Temple No. 5, Aaonoms, Mt. Heron Commandry No. 1 K. Templar, Dewell Davis Consistory No. 1.
Mr. Jennings served as Worthy Patron of Queen of Sheba Chapter No. 78 O.E.S. and Worthy Grand Patron of Benevolent Grand Chapter O.E.S. In 2002, he received 33rd Degree of Masonry and he served as Grand Chaplin of M.W. Benevolent Grand Lodge.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, the former Annie M. Robinson, whom he married Dec. 10, 1955; his son, Clarence (Rita) Jennings; three daughters, Karla D. Jennings, Diana L. Evans and Karen E. Jennings, all of Youngstown; a brother, Rev. Joseph (Jewell) Jennings; a sister, Blondiana Williams, both of Youngstown; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Willie Johnson; a son, Brian N. Jennings; three sisters, Katherine Williams, Martha L. Bryant and Ruth Ware; two brothers, former councilman Robert E. Jennings and James E. Jennings; and a granddaughter, Keisha Ruth.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Antioch Baptist Church.
Interment will be at Tod Homestead Cemetery.
