Gloria J. Carroll, 77
HUBBARD There will be services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the New Life Lutheran Church in Liberty Township for Gloria J. Carroll, 77, who passed away Sunday at Forum Health Northside Medical Center.
Gloria was born Feb. 5, 1930 in Niles, a daughter of Nicola and Sabina Rossi Carano, both immigrants from Italy. She moved to Youngstown when she was a young girl and then moved to Hubbard in 1957.
Before her marriage to her husband Richard, she worked for Working Mens Overall Supply and was a cashier for Youngs EZ Finer Foods grocery store for seven years. She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to a card club. She also enjoyed going with her friends to dinner on Tuesday nights for many years and taking daylong bus trips with her friends.
Gloria also enjoyed oil painting. She took a correspondence course from Tamans Artist School of Westport, Conn. and also took a class in charcoal at the Butler Art Museum in Youngstown under Clyde Singer when she was a young adult.
Her greatest enjoyment in life was being with her family and spending the holidays with all of them at home.
She leaves her husband, Richard F. Carroll, whom she married Feb. 14, 1953; three sons, Richard Carroll of Indian Trails, N.C., Nick (Connie) Carroll and Phil Carroll, both of Hubbard; three daughters, Debbie (Bill) Wittenauer of Youngstown, Terry (Thane) Lubonovich of Hubbard and Elizabeth (Robert) Wright of Palm Harbor, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Michelle Gaut Scott, Paul Lubonovich, Eric Lubonovich, Victoria Lubonovich, Natalie Wright, Ben Wright, Bradley Carroll and Cameron Carroll; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Carrie Falcione of Niles; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda Pennington; and two sisters, Marie Antoinette Sanchez and Rosaland Berardino, who passed away twelve hours after Glorias death.
There will be calling hours Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
