Alberta L. Booker

YOUNGSTOWN – Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the New Bethel Baptist Church for Mrs. Alberta Booker, who passed away Monday.
Mrs. Booker was born Sept. 20, 1928 in Youngstown, a daughter of James Marcellas and Louise Chappell Jackson.
She had been employed by the Youngstown City Schools until retiring in 1982.
She was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, where she served on the kitchen staff and loved attending Sunday School. Her hobbies included cooking and baking, ceramics, crocheting and playing bingo and keno with her buddies.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Carol Denise Quinn and Cynthia “Cyndi” J. Jackson, both of Youngstown; a stepson, Richard Nathaniel Booker of Texas; a niece, whom she reared, Joanne Wade; three “adopted” daughters, Caprice Mitchell, Shirlene Hill and Carletta Jones, whom she helped rear; a daughter-in-law, Misha Booker; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 31 years, Frank Booker Jr.; a sister, Lillian A. Buggs; a brother, Willie Lee Kyles; and a stepson, Richard Lee Booker.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church.
