Daniel Antal, 76

WARREN – Daniel Antal, 76, died Tuesday evening, Nov. 27, at St. Joseph Health Care Center after a short illness.
Born Feb. 5, 1931 in Youngstown, he was the son of the late Paul and Anna (Kolesar) Antal.
Dan was a graduate of Chaney High School and attended The Ohio State University. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army, where he was a corpse man working in a MASH unit.
Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, Dan began work at Thomas Steel Strip Corp., where he worked in the lab and also on the line. He retired from Thomas Steel in 1995 after more than 30 years with the company.
Dan was a dedicated member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeire No. 311 in Warren, the Westside Maple Leafs, and the Warren Moose and Elks lodges. He enjoyed golfing and did so on a weekly traveling golf league that traveled to various courses in Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Dan was also an avid bowler. He was a member of the Seniors Bowling League on Wednesday mornings at Crest Lanes.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Ann (Hromco) Antal, whom he married July 17, 1957. Together they shared 50 years of marriage and a daughter.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Anne Antal and her fiance’ Dana Srbinovich Jr. of Warren; a grandson, Patrick Mason, and a granddaughter, Anjolena Mason, both of Warren; two sisters, Susan Antal and Mildred Kovach, both of Austintown; a brother, Andrew Antal of Youngstown; five nephews; and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Vagasky, and a brother, Paul Antal.
The Rev. Steven Ritter will conduct a funeral service Saturday, Dec. 1, at noon at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel, where family and friends may visit for two hours prior to the service from 10 a.m. to noon.
Burial will be held at the Pineview Memorial Park where full military honors will be observed.
