George “Sonny” Smith, Jr. 64

CAMPBELL – George “Sonny” Smith Jr., 64, passed away Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Smith was born Aug. 10, 1944 in Warren, the son of George and Eloise Proctor Smith, Sr.
Sonny graduated from Struthers High School and was employed at Cold Metal Products for 34 years as a millwright, retiring in 2000. He was employed at Delphi for eight years and a member of Grace Evangelistic Temple, serving as treasurer and chairman of the Elders Board.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, the former Emaline Brogdon, whom he married Nov. 2, 1963; two sons, Brian (Sabrina) Smith of Florida and Sterling Smith of Campbell; one daughter, Stacey Black of Florida; one sister, Karen Gearo of Mineral Ridge; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Thursday July 30, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Grace Evangelistic Temple.
Calling hours will be Wednesday July 29, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church and also Thursday one hour prior to the services from 10 to 11 a.m.
