Sherry R. Rice, 62
SALEM Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel for Sherry R. Rice, 62, who passed away Friday evening, surrounded by her family.
Sherry was born March 8, 1947, in Coshocton, the daughter of the late Jess Dayton and Jean (Danner) Dayton.
She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Sherry was a member of the Red Hatters and was a girls softball coach. She enjoyed reading, bowling, going on cruises and other vacations with her husband and family and spoiling her grandchildren.
Sherry leaves her husband, Charlie Rice, whom she married July 19, 1964; four daughters, Lori (Bob) Mathey of Leetonia, Kathleen (Alan) Bartlett of North Jackson, Karen (Robb) Rast of Salem and Charlotte (Lonnie) Powell of North Baltimore; as well as eight grandchildren, Mathew Withers, Chelsea, Erin and Nora Mathey, Emily and Shawn Rast and Kiah and Hailey Powell; and her beloved golden retriever, Buddy. Sherry also leaves her mother of Coshocton and three sisters, Sue McCoy, Mary Hamilton and Nicki Walker all of Coshocton.
Besides her father, Sherry was preceded in death by a brother Michael Dayton.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and again from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel.
Donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley in Sherrys name.
