John D. “J.D.” (Hayes) Johnson, 70

YOUNGSTOWN – Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Power of Praise Church, 815 Wilson Ave. for John D. “J.D.” (Hayes) Johnson, 70, who departed this life on Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Johnson was born June 2, 1939 in Kosciusko, Miss., a son of John C. and Era Bell Wingo Johnson.
He was a detailer for Auto Plaza, and was also a CB operator.
He leaves his children, Carla L. (Willie) Lee of Cleveland, Carl (Tonya) Johnson of Houston, Vernon Johnson, Carlos Crues, Audrey (Troy) DuBose, Jermaine Thornton and Monique Green, all of Youngstown; siblings, Jimmie Johnson of Stokie, Ill., Levon (Jackie) Hayes, Richard Johnson, Carolyn Williams and Muriel D. (Christopher) Whitfield, all of Youngstown, Sarah Silva, with whom he made his home, James (Gwen) Hayes, Johnny (Peggy) Hayes, George (Queen) Hayes, Henry (Rose) Hayes, Geraldine Johnson, Dorothy Thompson, Gerald Kay Hayes, Rose Marie (Amos) Wilkin, Mary (Willie) Hunt, Bernice Hayes, Bertha (Ossie) White and Pearline (Tony) Conley, all of Coldwater, Miss.; a stepson, Damion (Sharon) Johnson of Cleveland; 26 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
His parents; a daughter, Mytoria Johnson; and a brother, John Eddie Hayes preceded him in death.
A viewing will be from noon to 4 p.m. on Friday at the F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home.
