Lawrence J. Larry DeSalvo, 72
HOWLAND There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church, preceded by a 9:30 a.m. service at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel for Lawrence J. Larry DeSalvo, 72, who passed away Wednesday afternoon Oct. 14, 2009, at Hospice of the Valley Hospice House from pulmonary fibrosis.
Lawrence J. Larry DeSalvo was born Aug. 10, 1937, in Youngstown, the son of Joseph and Mary DOnofrio DeSalvo.
He was a 1955 graduate of Hubbard High School and attended Kent State University. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and had served aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Putnam as a radio operator. He retired in 1999 from Campbells Soup Co. where he was a salesman for 35 years.
He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church. Larry was an avid golfer and played in numerous golf leagues. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Ross DeSalvo, who he married April 8, 1961; a daughter, Pamela Landis of Dearborn, Mich.; two sons, Lawrence E. (Beth) DeSalvo of Noblesville, Ind. and Dr. Anthony R. (Mimi) DeSalvo of Howland; six grandchildren, David Landis, Hannah, Olivia, Ross, Alex, and Max DeSalvo; and a brother, John (Gail) DeSalvo of Oceanside, Calif.
His parents preceded him in death.
Calling hours will be Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren, OH 44483.
