Josephine Voland, 89

NEW CASTLE, PA. – Josephine Voland, 89, died at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at her son’s residence in Girard.
She was born Aug. 19, 1920 in Butler, Pa., the daughter of Andy and Antonia Petrosko Prosky.
Josephine was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church in New Castle, enjoyed racing cars, cooking, painting, and a homemaker.
Her husband, Harry F. Voland, whom she married March 21, 1940, died in October of 1990.
She will be deeply missed by two sons, Terry Wayne Voland and his wife, Kathy of North Jackson and Paul Voland of Girard; four granchildren, Paul J. Voland and his wife Lynn, Harry J. Voland and his wife, Kristen, Robert W. Voland and Tiffany A. Voland; two great-grandchildren, Jeffery F. Voland and Johnathon B. Voland; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Voland; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Harry C. Voland; two brothers, John Popovich and Mike Popovich; and four sisters, Rose Kellish, Helen Ferchaw, Annie Llewllyn and Mary Vasquez.
There are no calling hours.
Private funeral services will be held at a later date.
