Anthony P. “Booze” Gianfrancesco, 83

LATROBE, PA. – There will be services Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at the Rossi Bros. Funeral Home in Boardman and at 9:30 a.m. at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown for Anthony P. “Booze” Gianfrancesco, 83, who peacefully passed away Saturday evening from respiratory failure at Latrobe Hospital. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Gianfrancesco was born April 30, 1922 in Youngstown, the son of Samuel and Maria (Marino) Gianfrancesco, and lived in Ligonier, Pa., for the past 23 years.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Pennsylvania and a former member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown. He was employed by the Mahoning County Nursing Home until his retirement in 1976. He also owned many taverns throughout the years.
Mr. Gianfrancesco was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during WWII. He was a lifetime member of the Italian Americans War Veterans and ITAM post No. 3 in Austintown. He was also an avid sports fan and loved to garden.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Loretta Kolesar, whom he married Nov. 30, 1982, his children, Sammy (Flo) Gianfrancesco of Florida, David Gianfrancesco and Danny Gianfrancesco both of Cleveland, Anthony Gianfrancesco of Youngstown, Patti Kophe of Cleveland, Kimberly Klema of Murrysville, Pa., Melissa A. Klema and Michelle Steele, both of Youngstown, and Kenneth (Barbee) Klema of South Carolina; two sisters, Lena Malandra and Marie Guerrieri, both of Youngstown; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Gianfrancesco.
Friends may pay respects from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
