Joseph J. Mrofchak, 84

MINERAL RIDGE - Joseph J. Mrofchak, 84, formerly of Warner Court and of Wesley Avenue in Youngstown, passed away early Sunday morning at Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Joe was born April 19, 1922 in Czechoslovakia, a son of the late Joseph and Anna Fillip Mrofchak, and came to America and the area as a child.
He worked as a shipper at Republic Steel, retiring in 1983 after 33 years.
Mr. Mrofchak was a member of St. Mary Church in Mineral Ridge, and was a former member of St. Brendan Church in Youngstown. He bowled in the St. Brendan Men’s Bowling League, and was a member of SCOPE.
Mr. Mrofchak leaves two sons, Thomas (Lynda) Mrofchak of Austintown, and Joseph D. Mrofchak of Canfield; two grandchildren, Jason and Caitlin; four brothers, William (Judy) Mrofchak of Vienna, John (Marlene) Mrofchak of Warren, Paul (Audrey) Mrofchak of Girard, and Steve (Mickey) Mrofchak of Warren; a sister, JoAnn Paulik of Niles; and many nieces and nephews.
His first wife, Eleanor Yalch Mrofchak, whom he married Feb. 7, 1959, died April 4, 1975. His second wife, Nellie Belle Baker Mrofchak, whom he married Aug. 1, 1981, died Feb. 5, 2004. A sister, Mary Byle, is also deceased.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd. in Youngstown.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and continue at 10 a.m. at St. Brendan Church.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
