William F. Briguglio, 83
AUSTINTOWN William F. Briguglio, 83, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, at his home.
He was born Oct. 11, 1923 in Connellsville, Pa., a son of the late William S. and Lillian Broom Briguglio.
A graduate of Monessen High School, William served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, serving in the 86th Infantry Division in the European and Pacific Theatres. He was owner of Campus Book and Supply and previously had owned Clary Business Machines.
William was a member of the Youngstown Board of Education, Youngstown Education Committee, was the 1971 Yohioan of the Year, served as Personnel Chairman of YETC and was a former President of Unita.
He is survived by his wife, the former Marilyn Meredith McQuillan, whom he married Oct. 11, 1995; four children, William (Doris) Briguglio Jr. of Sunrise, Fla., Kathleen (Bernie) Profato of Niles, Randall (Priscilla) Briguglio of Canfield and Elene (Bob) Gusch of Albuquerque, N.M.; three stepchildren, Renee Peterson of Poland and Charles McQuillan and Lynnette (Pat) DeChellis, both of Youngstown; four stepsisters, Stella Dikun of Liberty, Barbara Brown of Girard, Katherine Lucarelli of Niles and Carmel Lucarelli of Girard; a half brother, Frank; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Beside his parents, William was preceded in death by a son, Gary Briguglio, and two sisters, Pauline Centner and Louise Nichols.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
