Rev. Booker Thomas Brown III, 74
YOUNGSTOWN Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Shiloh Baptist Church for Rev. Booker Thomas Brown III, 74, who departed this life Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006.
Rev. Brown was born Aug. 3, 1932 in Century, Fla., a son of Booker T. Sr. and Annie Bell Moss Brown.
He had been employed with Youngstown Sheet & Tube Company and for Albee Homes as a shipper. He was also a self-employed upholsterer.
He was a former longtime member and assistant pastor at Jerusalem Baptist Church. He was presently a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church, where he was an associate minister, youth pastor, a student in the Bible Study and Sunday School classes. His singing ministry included managing and singing with the Gospel Spiritualaires. His hobbies were many but he especially enjoyed fishing, playing the saxophone and drums. He was an Army veteran and played in the Army band.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved and devoted wife, the former Margaret E. Ervin, whom he married June 4, 1951; four sons, Timothy D., Marion A. (Edith), Michael E. and Steven B., and three daughters, Angela L. (Mike) McCoy, Judy C. (Rev. James) Bowie and Karen M. (Maurice) Hobard, all of Youngstown; a brother, Booker T. (Myrtle) Brown II of Cleveland; 15 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a host of other family and friends.
His parents preceded him death.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
