Virginia M. Northall, 86

POLAND – Virginia M. Northall, 86, was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Monday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center with her family present.
She was born Sept. 7, 1920 in Etowa, Tenn., a daughter of William and Minnie Pearl Newton Smith, coming to Struthers as a young girl.
A 1940 graduate of Struthers High School, Mrs. Northall was a member of the Christ Community Church in Campbell and a charter member of the former Fairview Immanuel Baptist Church in Struthers, where she was a member of its choir, loved singing solos and served as a Deaconess and treasurer.
She worked as an insurance agent for Watt Insurance Agency in Struthers for 32 years.
Mrs. Northall was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge, Columbiana Chapter No. 428, and Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem No. 64. She was a member of the Christian Women's Club South, The Poland Grange and was an active and loyal member of the Duck & Dive Square Dance Club. She was 4-H advisor for the Poland Saddle Pals, scorekeeper for the Poland Fireman Little League, den mother for the Cub Scouts, and was an avid baseball, football and college basketball fan.
She leaves her husband of 66 years, William, whom she married July 20, 1940; a daughter, Rebecca (Dan) Mottram of Lowellville; a son, Roger (Sue) Northall of Champion; four grandchildren, Gretchen Dodrill, David Mottram, Mark (Brittney) Northall and Amy (Dan) Bondi; and five great-grandchildren, Kennedi, Tori, Joey, Laini and Joshy.
Her greatest love in life was her family, who came second only to God. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family will forever treasure her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Arvel Smith; and a sister, Willabelle Allen.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, where funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday
Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Boardman.
