Fern A. Anderson, 90

NEW MIDDLETOWN - Fern A. Anderson, 90 of New Middletown, died Saturday morning at her residence.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Pittsburgh on September 27, 1916, a daughter of Earl S. and Edith H. Waggoner Banks.
She lived in Pasadena, Calif., for 20 years, before moving back to Ohio in 1991.
Mrs. Anderson was a 1934 Graduate of South High School, and attended Youngstown College.
She was a member of the Poland United Methodist Church, where she was involved with the Stephen Ministry, and the TLC Ministries. Prior to losing her eyesight, she was an avid bridge player and reader, and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and learning the computer. After losing her eyesight, she enjoyed listening to books-on-tape.
Her husband, Samuel G. Anderson, whom she married October 10, 1936, died May 3, 1995.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet Conrad of Poland; one sister, Velva Kusnic of Seattle; seven grandchildren, Dan Anderson, Gabrielle Faulkner, Mark Anderson, Rick “Fred” Chittock, Fred Anderson, Rick Anderson, and Carol Hostetter, with whom she made her home; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Earl S. Anderson and Lloyd D. Anderson.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service to celebrate Fern's life Wednesday, January 17, at 7 p.m. at the Poland United Methodist Church, where friends may call a half hour prior to the service.
Memorial Contributions may be given in Mrs. Anderson's name to the Poland United Methodist Church, MVI Hospice or the Mahoning Valley Rescue Mission.
Funeral Arrangements are being handled by the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
