Michael A. Kazy, 88
BOARDMAN There will be funeral services at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Kubina Yuhasz Funeral Home, Boardman Chapel, 5925 Market St. and at 10 a.m. at Saint Stanislaus Church for Michael A. Kazy, 88, who died Saturday.
Mr. Kazy was born for Aug. 16, 1918 in Youngstown, a son of Michael and Christine Repasky Kazy.
He was employed as a tallyman in the 43 inch mill at U.S. Steel Corp. for 40 years, retiring in 1976.
He was a member of the church, Catholic War Veterans Post 1222.
Michael was an avid sports fan with Notre Dame and the Yankees was his favorite teams. He coached Youngstown Little League and Pony League Baseball Teams for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and his rose garden.
Michael is survived by his wife, the former Helen B. Potkanowicz, whom he married Oct. 4, 1947; a son, Michael (Mary) Kazy of Cincinatti; two daughters, Dolores (Dr. Frank) Rich of Canfield and Patty (Dan) Rotar of Boardman; grandchildren, Mary Beth, Jeanette and Michael Kazy, Frank, Jeffery and Michael Rich, Danny, Matthew and Michael Rotar; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, John and Martin Kazy; and four sisters, Mary Matko, Sophie Kazy, Pauline Antonoff and Margaret Caspary.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.
