David R. Lees, 91
AUSTINTOWN There will be services at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, for David R. Lees, 91, who passed away Monday at his home.
David was born Oct. 27, 1915 in Youngstown, the son of John and Jesse (Rennie) Lees, and was a lifelong area resident.
He retired from the shipping department of General Fireproofing. He was an Army veteran of WWII, serving in the 2nd Armored Division in the North Africa and Sicily campaigns as well as the Battle of the Bulge and received several decorations.
He was a member of the Christ United Presbyterian Church and was an avid bowler.
His wife, the former Jean L. Dieter, whom he married July 21, 1951, passed away Oct. 23, 2003.
He leaves two children, Robin (Sue) Lees of Austintown and April (Larry) Russell of Canfield; a brother, John Lees of Canfield, and five grandchildren.
Besides his wife, David is preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Lees.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and again from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
