Etta Wharton
YOUNGSTOWN Etta Wharton, of Fifth Avenue, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, at Forum Health Northside Medical Center.
Etta was born April 29, 1936 in Bullock County, Ga., the daughter of the late Nathan and Eulee Weaver Bailey.
She moved to Youngstown from Laurelton, Queens, in 2005 after retiring from Phillip Morris Inc. 120 Park Ave. in New York City. When living in NYC, she was a member of The Long Island Board of Realtors, was owner/operator of Perfect Start Inc., a childrens daycare, and was owner/operator of Ettas Locker Room Sporting Goods in Queens. In Youngstown, she was a member of The Youngstown Symphony Guild and Friend of The Butler.
Etta leaves a daughter, Adrienne Denise Bradley of Youngstown; two sons, Christopher D. Rhame of Youngstown and Gregory Rhame of Atlanta; a stepsister, Laura E. Wharton of Pocono, Pa.; a brother, Eusher Bailey of Bronx, N.Y.; two sisters, Inez Ray of Columbus and Beatrice Peoples of New York City; and five grandchildren, Bianca L. Bradley, Lashawn Rhame, Gregory Rhame, Russell L. Bradley Jr. and Tahira Rhame.
Calling hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, and a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at McVean, Hughes and McClurkin Funeral Home, 711 Wick Ave., Youngstown, OH 44505.
Burial is at Tod Homestead Cemetery on Belmont Avenue in Youngstown.
