Danelle N. Durig, 24
NILES There will be a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, for Danelle N. Durig, 24, who passed away Tuesday at The Cleveland Clinic following a battle with breast cancer.
She was born July 21, 1983 in Warren, a daughter of David W. Durig Sr. and Randi Naples, and was a lifelong resident of Niles.
Danelle graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 2002. She excelled in many extra curricular activities including speech, volleyball, art club, and band, as well as the feature twirler for the Niles High School Marching Band. She was a former Miss Majorette of Ohio. Her hobbies also included snow skiing and being a member of the Shining Stars Dance and Baton Competition Team. She was a 2007 alumnus of the Kent State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. She was currently employed as an intern with Phillips-Sekanick Architects in Warren.
Danelle is survived by her father of Lordstown; her mother of Niles; a sister, Karla Durig of Niles; a stepsister, Julia Durig and a stepbrother, David Durig Jr., both of Lordstown; maternal grandmother, Marvolyn Naples of Niles; paternal grandparents, Carl and Verda Durig of Mineral Ridge; and her fiancé, Michael Ostrode and his entire family.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
