Joan H. Economos, 92

WARREN – Joan H. Economos, 92, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles.
She was born May 6, 1915 in Warren, the daughter of George and Demetra (Copetas) Asimakopoulos, and had lived in Warren since 1938, moving from Youngstown.
Mrs. Economos and her late husband, Harry, were owners of the Saratoga Restaurant in downtown Warren, now in its fourth generation of family ownership. She was the face of the Saratoga Restaurant, manning the cash register for more than 50 years.
She was a graduate of South High School in Youngstown. She belonged to St. Demetrios Hellenic Orthodox Church, the Daughters of Penelope, the Morning Light Chapter No. 80 Order of the Eastern Star, and the Warren No. 77 Social Order of Beauceant.
Surviving are her son, D. James Economos of Warren; her daughter, Demetra (Norman) Black of Stamford, Conn.; six grandchildren, Dorian Miller, Chrisi, Jennifer, and Eric (Angela) Economos, and Max and Nicholas Black; three great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Andrew Miller, and Evan Economos; and a brother, Elia G. (Lynn) Asimakopoulos.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Harry D. Economos, whom she married Jan. 23, 1938 and who died Aug. 18, 1990.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at St. Demetrios Hellenic Orthodox Church, with Fr. Stelios Menis officiating.
Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with a Trisaghion Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m.
