Mary L. Mershimer, 87

NEW MIDDLETOWN – Mary L. Mershimer, 87, of East Calla Road in New Middletown, Ohio, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007 at the Greenbriar.
Mrs. Mershimer was born Nov. 21, 1920 in Slippery Rock, Pa., a daughter of George and Mabel McConnell Hall.
A graduate of West Sunbury School, Mrs. Mershimer worked in the office of Electrolux for over 20 years. She was a member of the Poland United Methodist Church for over 50 years, where she served on many committees, and was a Sunday school teacher for 45 years.
Her husband, Wayne Mershimer, whom she married on Dec. 11, 1948, died March 20, 1966.
Mrs. Mershimer leaves her daughter, Valerie (John) Mohr of Tipp City, Ohio; a sister, Dorothy (Dr. Rodney) Thorpe of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Jesse (Frieda) Hall of Charleston, W.Va.; three grandsons, Robert Mohr of Beltsville, Md., and Richard and Will Mohr, both at home; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Mershimer was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry, Roy, William, and Horace Hall; and her sister, Edith Mershimer.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Mershimer’s name to the Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Rd., Poland, OH 44514.
