Carmel Calucchia, 86

BOARDMAN – A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Thursday, July 31, at 11 a.m. at Saint Charles Catholic Church in Boardman for Carmel Calucchia, 86, who passed away Monday evening, July 28, at Hospice House.
Carmel was born June 21, 1922 in Youngstown, a daughter of Antonio and Elena (Helen) Tesone DeSalvo.
She was a 1941 graduate of East High School.
Carmel was a former member of St. Dominic Church and a present member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She was a homemaker, care giver for family members and volunteered at Beeghley Oaks.
Her husband, James Calucchia, whom she married Nov. 7, 1942, died on Dec. 23. 1983.
She is survived by a a daughter, Laraine Modarelli of Boardman; two sons, Jim (Patty) Calucchia of Nevada and Michael Calucchia of Colorado; and two grandchildren, Kelly and Christie Calucchia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Jean DeSalvo Gresko.
Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kubina Yuhasz Funeral Home, 5925 Market St. in Boardman.
