Millard E. Meyers, 87
Together Again
GIRARD Private funeral services will be held for Millard E. Meyers, 87, who died Sunday evening at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
He was born May 6, 1922 in Connellsville, Pa., a son of Roy and Minnie (Eiford) Meyers.
He worked on the assembly line for Oldberg Manufacturing, formerly McKenzie Muffler, in Austintown for 18 years and he owned and operated the S&E Auto Salvage in Lowellville for 15 years before retiring. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Air Corps during World War II.
Millard was a simple man and he enjoyed working on cars and being outdoors.
He is survived by two children, Ronald (Anna) Meyers of Canfield and Sharon (Louis) Gilbert of Youngstown. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Linda Kennedy of Youngstown, Louis (Angie) Fekety of Youngstown, Shane (Kimberly) Fekety of Newton Falls, and Shawn Fekety of Youngstown; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Herschel (Mary) Meyers of Normalville, Pa., Dellman Gene Meyers of Crossville, Tenn., and John (Carol) Meyers of North Jackson; and a sister, Mildred Pearl Borst of Whitehall, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ellwood and Virgil Elbridge Meyers; two sisters, Helen Gessner and Martha Elaine Meyers, who died as an infant; and his longtime companion, Dolly Ritenour.
Private calling hours will be held for the family.
Arrangements are being handled by the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
